What AI unlocks · scenario-based practice

You can read about hard conversations. Or you can have one.

Slide decks can't rehearse a moment that talks back. This one can. You walk in as a leader coaching a teammate who's quietly checked out, and practice the real skill: make it safe, listen before fixing, name the pattern without blame. The teammate reacts to what you actually say, and every turn streams to the LRS as xAPI, so the behavior is measurable, not the click.

Coaching a disengaged teammate

Guided demo

The setup

Sam used to be your spark. Lately they’ve gone quiet.

You’re Sam Rivera’s manager. Four years in, Sam was the person everything routed to, now they’ve turned down a conference talk, gone quiet in standup, and answered a stretch project with a flat “sure, I’ll take it.” The work still ships. The spark is gone.

You’ve got a 1:1 in a minute. Your job isn’t to fix Sam, it’s to make it safe enough that the real thing surfaces, and to leave with a next step you build together.

What you’re practicing

Make it safe · listen before fixing · name the pattern without blame · co-create the next step.

Running as a guided demo: choose how you respond and watch the read move. Connect a model and you can free-type, with Sam improvising back.

Practice, not exposure

The first time a manager has this conversation shouldn't be with a real person who's actually struggling. Here they can take a wrong turn, watch it land badly, and run it again.

The thing only AI does

A branching scenario has a fixed set of right answers. A model plays a person. It improvises, gets defensive, opens up, and the debrief reads back what you actually said.

Measurable behavior

Every turn is an xAPI statement: the approach taken, the read at that moment, the rubric at the end. It lands in the LRS and rolls up to the manager dashboard as Kirkpatrick L3.

When a model is connected, everything you type in your own words gets a live, in-character reply, and the debrief reads back your actual words; the suggested approaches play out instantly from the authored design. Without a model it runs fully guided. Sam is fictional. The burnout pattern is not.
